Wednesday’s wrap up…

It’s been fun and exciting sharing this last week about all the great opportunities I have to write each day….to share with others each day…whether here on this blog….on Facebook in any of the groups….someone I encounter in the store….or writing in my journal each morning and each night….

I have grown so much this year with learning and disciplining myself to write each day….that was my goal my desire.   I now have some other amazing goals and desires I am working on with developing some courses….preparing for some speaking opportunities….and teaching mind body soul wellness classes with and through essential oils.  I am really excited about all these new adventures….especially with being a wellness advocate.

I love how I am going to be able to share classes or one on one about women’s health, biblical history of oils, self care, home care, cooking with oils, brain health, and so many more topics.

I am starting my darling daughters lessons back up in a few weeks which also is an important part of my life and focus.

Thus I hope this helps explain my reasoning for the transition to a once a week posting.  I pondered which day I really wanted to have as my consistent day…..and it came back over and over WEDNESDAY.

I live and breath sharing with others about wellness in health: mind, body, and soul….AND I am passionate about women feeling and know they are warriors, wonderful.  And my darling daughter loves texting her daddy and asking him on Wednesdays….”Hey what day is it!?”….and then imitating that commercial with the camel….”hump day”….

Who doesn’t need a midweek refresher reminding you the week is halfway to the weekend.
Who doesn’t need a bit of advice and support about their healthy WELLNESS choices midweek to stay the course through the weekend.
Who doesn’t need a bit of encouragement with their wonderful warrior woman self love, self care, self awareness!

Here is to WEDNESDAY’S being WONDERFULLY filled with…
WELLNESS
WARRIORS
WOMEN
WONDER
WORDS

Ah heck the Wednesday is also good for the core questions of writing about something: who, what, where, when, why!

What is a transition you are currently in!?  Sit for a moment today to pray about it…reflect on it…journal about it….enjoy it!

Many hugs and blessings dear readers….family….friends…..

Dynamic Daughters: "Soul Surfer"

FEAR NOT!!!

Check out this link in ALL scriptures relating in not fearing!

My favorite one I lean on a regular basis is:

Psalm 56:3
WHEN I AM AFRAID,
 I PUT MY TRUST
IN YOU!!!

In the movie “Soul Surfer”…I remember the conversation the parents had in the car after they got home form the hospital…

The dad ponders…what now?  The mom reminds him, just like when they brought home their first baby, they knew nothing, so they took it one day at a time, and they learned together.

I think the largest challenge with raising a daughter, a child, is to not give into fear.  Don’t fear the unknown.  Instead embrace it.  Feed your mind with as much great material but when your daughter throws you a curve ball don’t run from it.  Face it had on…even ponder if it’s something that needs work on within your own self; and be honest with her always!  Don’t’ avoid the tough questions.  If you show her you’re human and vulnerable, she will come to you even more.

Dynamic Daughters: Parenting on Purpose

PROVERBS 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

This podcast/website is a powerful 15 minutes to gain confidence and encouragement in raising kiddos.

What is even more exciting is that there is a week long, 5 episodes, that are dedicated specifically to raising daughters.

Here is a summary of the 5, 15 minute, segments:

1.  The difference from raising boys.
2.  Modesty
3.  The power of words.
4.  The role of Dads
5.  The gift of Time.

There is truly nothing more I need to say with this posting.  These podcasts will truly speak for themselves.  Strengthen your armor this week by listening to one a day as you are driving to work, going for a walk, or relaxing in a bath!

Dynamic Daughters: Brain Gut

Proverbs 31: 10, 22, 25, 30

“Who shall find a valiant woman?
Far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her…
She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple is her covering….
Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day….
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”

I  remember the first time I ever truly felt uncomfortable around a man/boy… I realized we (men and women) are different and view life different.

I was 10 years old.  I was at a friends house.  A bunch of us were getting ready to go swimming in the back yard “pool”.   Many of us had bathing suits that needed assistance and help with ties, straps, etc.  This young lady had an older brother who was a teen, who was more than willing to help all of us girls.  I recall as he was tying my straps in the back getting this “icky” feeling down the spine of my back.  I remember thinking, “it shouldn’t be taking so long to tie a loop”.

Moms:  pay attention to those feelings….don’t dismiss your “gut” feeling when someone looks at you…looks at your daughter….in anyway other than true pureness.  In Asian culture the gut is considered the second brain.

It is so easy to dismiss it as “well it’s the times we live in”….but that’s not good enough for me!

I refuse to allow “the times” to numb my daughter from right and wrong…

I refuse to not armor her to understand when you get the prickly, gut feeling, go with it….even if it means going against the grain.

I refuse to not teach her to understand we as women do have a responsibility to understand men and women think differently and it IS our responsibility as women to be sensitive to not cause the occasion of sinful thoughts into a man/boy.  BUT on the same note we DO NOT ALLOW a man/boy rob us of our dignity and our innocence.

This is why I loved reading Dressing with Dignity!  It gave me me so much to read and understand about:

* The forces behind the 20th century revolution in women’s fashion
* Amazing statements from Popes.
* How to choose modest, yet fun attire.
* How to talk to your teen about the beauty of our femininity.
* How to inspire men to step up and be that knight in shining armor.

Dynamic Daughters: Fuel

JOHN 15:12

“Love each other as I have loved you.”

I have learned to not fight with my dynamic daughter about food.

I refuse to have it come between us.  I don’t always like some of the choices she makes about her nutrition…BUT….here is a huge BUT…I want her to have a healthy relationship with food!

I don’t want her to view food as good versus bad, thus interpreting it as moral: good versus evil.  FOOD IS NOT MORAL.  It can nurture you, it can nourish you, it can be a cause of celebration….but it is not EVIL!!!

Too many young girls who are displeased with their bodies, their life, their emotions of a situation….use food as a control.  They figure I am going to eat this because I feel (fill in what ever emotion here: angry, sad, bored….)…..or they use food to punish themselves.

So to ensure food doesn’t become a battle ground at our home I make sure that I have things available always that are enjoyable to my budding beauty!

She really doesn’t like mixed dishes, where lots of things are mixed together…she is not into lots of different flavors combining….so I provide easy fun stuff that is still nutritious.

Like this plate for example it is full of great protein, fruit, a healthy starch, and nuts for fat…and some organic granola bits.  She will eat on something like this all day long!

What does this have to do with raising a dynamic daughter?

She is developing: hormonal, mentally, spiritually...

The more balanced her hormones are, the better she will be able to think out her decisions, and the clearer she will see the lies of the devil when he tries to convince her she is not worthy, she is not beautiful, she is not……

When she is caring for her body…she is caring for her mind….and caring for her spirit.

BUT…this all must be nurtured in her with love…..because if I don’t nurture it with love….and only drill the facts about nutrition and what it does to our bodies then she will be just as vulnerable to the controlling of food through excess or denial.  Thus food becomes the enemy…evil…AND IT IS NOT MORAL!!!

New Beginnings…A Journey for the Mind Body and Soul of Daughters!

Easter Season is full of beautiful new beginnings…our amazing Lord has risen!

I hope you enjoy this journey on Raising Dynamic Daughters into Wonderful Warrior Women.

We are going to create a new ripple of resurrecting what our true femininity is all about for our daughters.  We are going to resurrect the beauty and design God had/has in store for us as women and for our daughters!!!

I am no expert…I am just a mom of a daughter…desiring to make a change for her, for you, for all women and girls. Everything I will be sharing for the next 50 days is stuff I have learned…read…felt inspired by to raise a daughter with love and confidence!

What you will have to look forward to:

1. A scripture to feed our spirit, our soul, to nurture our faith hope and love of raising daughters….to empower ourselves as women.

2.  I will share with you something I have read, watched, or listened to that has helped me with this journey…sometimes with a personal reflection entwined.

3.  How we can nurture our daughters through: healthy choices about food, exercise, world influences…anything that can be related to our physical body.

Each day will have at least one of the above. With the design and intent to nurture:

Scripture for our soul.
Learning for our mind.
Practices/recipes for our body.

I know the saying is: MIND, BODY, SOUL….but my thoughts are when we focus 1st on the soul through God’s word it creates a desire to obtain the knowledge to feed the mind, which then instills the discipline to care for my body, to do God’s work which all brings us back to our soul…making us stronger to be the warrior woman for our amazing God.  That gives me FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE.

Many blessings, hugs, and prayers…
~Kelly 🙂

PS….I hope to post something inspiriting, informative, and/or helpful each day…but keep in mind….just as I need to remind myself as well….my first and foremost responsibility is to God..then hubby…then child…then education…then blog :)…..AND LIFE HAPPENS SOMETIMES :)….

PPS….any recipes I post between now and Pentecost will be creations that my Dynamic Daughter really likes….so there won’t be a great deal of my salad creations (yet) but some really fun ways of “sneaking” some powerful foods into your daughters diet to help her keep ‘balanced’ with her developing body and mind!

HE HAS RISEN…ALLELUIA…AND HE WILL HELP US…

RAISE DYNAMIC DAUGHTERS…TO BE WONDERFUL WARRIOR WOMEN!!!

As I reflect upon my last 40 days of lent I unplugged from facebook, pintrest, limited my email time so much that toward the end  of these 40 days I have just deleted many folders knowing that if I  needed the info it will be out there.

I started out my journey with the desire to strip away from distractions.  Distractions from being the best student of my Heavenly Father…distractions from being an attentive wife…distractions from being a present mom…distractions from being a well prepared teacher to my daughter and to others around me.

I let many on facebook know I would come back with my blog and facebook with 50 days of recipes entwining our mind, body, soul connection.  What I hadn’t accounted for was the impact being unplugged would make on my life.

I have been reading and learning things in a such a way that the realization came to me about how my truest passion is not just about our nutritional needs: how they effect our mind, body and soul…but if I were to dedicate only 2 hours a week to my blog after I have taken care of all my other responsibilities of woman for God, wife, mother, teacher….

What would I truly want to share on my blog…what is near and dear to my heart right now?!

Daughters…
Women…
Mothers…
Girls…

I want every daughter to feel dynamic!
I want every woman to know she is wonderful and she IS a warrior!
I want girls to not feel ashamed of their bodies.
I desire for women to truly love themselves.
I want girls to not compare themselves.
I desire for women to understand their hormones are effected by what they eat, but also by what they think.

I hope to empower moms to be excellent examples for their daughters to break the cycle of:

self hate
lack of compassion to self and others
comparing

…to be aware of all the crud their daughters are up against:

media obsession with thigh gap
eating disorders
mental disorders

…and to empower yourself as a mom so you can make a difference in your daughters life and choices with her:

sexuality
health
spirituality

Thus, my journey from Easter to Mothers day to Pentecost to…. has turned now a different path…not just Kelly’s desires and wants but truly God’s will and His path by using me to share all I have learned, experienced (good and bad) over my precious amazing life of 41 years.

Journey with me for 50 days as we dare to raise our daughters to understand their faith…
their hopes…
their love…

and how their, our experiences are connected to our…
mind…
body…
soul…
into their…our journey of womanhood.

***Tomorrow I will have a summary…the outline of  what I hope to share with you over the next couple monts of Raising Dynamic Daughters into Wonderful Warrior Women!  View it as a spring cleaning of sorts…a preparation and celebration of Motherhood for Mother’s day….and the patience and perseverance of Mary and the Apostles as they waited for Pentecost…the Holy Spirit to come down upon us to guide us…direct us…lead us here on earth!

Blessings, hugs…and so many prayers to all…
~Kelly 🙂
