Which Oil for Peter?

Tomorrow is the Last Supper.  Which Apostle do you connect with most?

Have you ever really pondered about this?  During holy week we often think about the last supper and know there are 12 at that table yet the two that stand out the most are Peter and Judas.  But what about all the other apostles?

I even ponder which essential oil could have supported each of them in their faith walk?  Which essential oil could have enhanced their strength and which could’ve helped them rise above their fears, doubts, anything they struggled with.  I know this may not be something most people ponder on, but I do.

The more I study and learn about my faith; the more I study and learn about essential oils; the more I connect them together; the more I see how relevant they are to each other.

So as you reflect upon the last supper tomorrow I challenge you to reflect which apostle you connect with most and which essential oil you connect with most.  And what would’ve  been the essential oil for that apostle to find strength and support?

Sit with this….pray about this….write about this…..share below about this!?

Many hugs and blessings dear followers….friends….family…

Holy Thursday: Reflecting on Lent

I have discovered some amazing thoughts, reflections, and inspirations during my Lenten journey this year.

One of the many things I have realized is I don’t need to have a polished, edit perfect, picture perfect blog in order to share my life…my love…all I have learned…with all of you!  I don’t have to create all sorts fancy aspects…not every post needs to have a link…

What I need to do is WRITE, SPEAK, AND SHARE from my HEART!!!

…to spread the GOOD NEWS in a way I know how …and to do what comes naturally to me!

So if a person is looking for something fancy…polished…refined…this is not the blog for you…

Because I am a simple…bohemian type…re-purposed kind of gal who does everything with the gifts I do have…and the gifts I do have, I give them my fullest attention…I truly use them!

I don’t pretend I am anything but the wonderful warrior woman God created me to be…

So…you may not get polish…but you will get real…you will get me…you will get love…laughter..LIFE…and lots of fun!!!

AND….you are going to find out what I have been working on the last several months and especially during lent…tomorrow…or Saturday…or Sunday…you’ll just have to keep checking to find out! :)……

Til then…hugs…prayers…blessings…

April 1st: Healing is No Joke…Just Joy!

Today I re-enter into the social media world for a brief moment.  I choose to blog today because four years ago I wondered why I had to lay on a hospital bed to be wheeled away for my D&C from my miscarriage.

I had been able to experience the joys, fears, delights of my precious Sam for 12 short weeks, yet all the joy, all the lessons, all the amazing things that have taken place because of that loss, that experience, of that deep sorrow in my life…

Well…I am a better, stronger, richer, deeper person…woman…wife…mom…servant to God because of that pain..that sorrow!

I can’t be angry with God because ALL of my life’s experiences even those that caused me hurt, pain, sorrow or even harm….have all lead me to…love, redemption, peace, joy, gratitude, faith, hope, commitment, endurance…and so many more.

Take today’s date as an example:

Each year it has fallen on a day within lent.  This year it is in Holy Week.  I will enter the next three days with great appreciation, healing, hope, love, deep understanding of being a mom! One year it was Palm Sunday.  Another year it was the Easter weekend the year we were asked to be god-parents to some dear friends children.  Wow…that was a powerful year!

I feel so blessed to know my God so loved me that he gave us his only son!  Now that is somehtng to live for!!!

Join me here for the next three days to prepare and celebrate the Triduum…to reflect on His mercy….His Joys and Sorrows….

Blessings, hugs, and lots of prayers always,
~Kelly 🙂

Fashion on Friday

I finished reading this fabulous book that has truly convicted me about fashion…attire…clothing for women…for girls…for even men and boys!

This is my conclusion:  I thought I knew and understood DRESSING WITH DIGNITY but this book convicted me to take it up a notch.

I discovered some amazing things about how the fashion industry has been influenced over the years.  I learned the true evil that is underlined with intent to strip us women from our dignity….our true femininity.  You may find my use of evil as strong but when I read things like:

“Religion does not fear the daggers point; but it can vanish under corruption.  Let us not grow tired of corruption; we may use a pretext, such as sport, hygiene, health resorts. It is necessary to corrupt, that our boys and girls practice nudism in dress.  To avoid too much reaction, one would have to progress in a methodical manner:  first undress up to the elbow; then up to the knees; then arms and legs completely uncovered; later, the upper part of the chest, the shoulders, etc. etc.”

This was taken from a Freemason publication!  I’m not lying! Colleen Hammond has it quoted and referenced in her book.
When I read this in DRESSING WITH DIGNITY, by Colleen Hammond, it had me really thinking and reflecting on everything.  How so many things are entwined, related, connected….
Things we may not even think about….
And it further convicted me to continue to battle for my dynamic daughters virtue….her morality….
I will continue to build her armor.  I will continue to help and guide her toward Godly choices, even if it may feel like she is swimming against the stream.
God calls us to live in this world but to not be of this world.
I have so much I have been writing down about this topic recently that I look forward to sharing even more with you all over the next couple of months.

So as I head into holy week I will live this thought I posted on Facebook from a private group I am apart of called Fitness~Food~Faith:

“Unsettle ME!”
I love this simple prayer from day one of the Made to Crave devotional!
This prayer is about more than food! It is about asking God to help you make changes in any and all areas of your life that need tweaking!
You know what is even greater?!
The Joyce Meyer devotional: TRUSTING GOD….today’s specific bible reflection is:

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong, courageous, and firm,
Fear not nor be in terror before them,
for it is the Lord, you God who goes with you;
HE WILL NOT FAIL YOU OR FORSAKE YOU!!! (ok I took liberty with the bold  )
….but isn’t that perfect….when we are asking God to help us make changes…to help us be strong or bold….to do something that may be uncomfortable or even foreign to us…..HE is not saying we have to do it alone….HE IS SAYING TRUST HIM! HE IS THERE WITH US!
Let’s enter into Holy Week with boldness….with conviction….with change!
…change of heart,
…change of mind,
….change of spirit!

Please share with me your thoughts!  I love to hear other points of views, insights, encouragement.

We are all in this big world together….as a tribe…as a family…and we need to help each other grow in our faith…whether it is growth in:
five minutes…

Okay so I enjoy using words that start with F….I can’t help it….FrickWrites is full of fun play on words!

Have a glorious day!

Blessings always,
~K 🙂
