Dynamic Daughters: Understanding Dysmorphic Disorder

Okay so here is a summary of all I have learned….and I am going to highlight specific aspects and explain why….but if you want to understand this disorder even more there are lots of great resources out there.  And I will give you the the whole MIND, BODY, SOUL….connects at the end of this post.  But for now…..

Dysmorphic Disorder:

(follow the above link to get the full details….but below is a summary)

A type of chronic mental illness.  The individual has a perceived flaw that is either minor or totally imagined.  The point is they obsess over it.  They obsess over appearance and body image for hours a day.  This obsession impacts daily decisions.  There is never a satisfaction with their body.  They seek procedures: minor or major, to “fix” these flaws.  They may lean on excessive exercise.

Just some of the symptoms…

preoccupied by appearance
extreme self-consciousness
frequent examination of self in mirror or avoid mirrors
believe others notice you in a negative way
avoid social situations
excessive grooming
compares self to others
don’t want to be in pictures
obsess over specific body parts: face, hair, skin, breasts, muscles…etc

Brain differences (structure or neuro-chemistry)
Genes – more common in a person who has a family member who has this condition.
Environment – life experiences, culture

Risk Factors:
This is just a short, very slimmed down explanation….
Some of the factors that increase risk of developing or triggering condition include:

relatives with disorder
life experiences: childhood teasing, trauma
personality traits
societal pressures or expectations
having another mental disorder such as anxiety or depression.

***Dysmorphia usually starts in adolescents and it affects men and women.

Why does this all matter to me?

I see more and more young women being bombarded by social media’s imagery of what a woman “looks like”….and how we “should” look like!

Even though we KNOW that there is airbrushing involved…there is some extreme things that are done…..and that the magazines, movies, shows, commercials….represent a very small percentage of the population….we are talking like less than 10%.

I recently read/heard that genetically speaking…there is only 1% of women who come by thigh gap naturally….born with it.

YET WE ARE OBSESSED WITH IT….all others who obtain in….do it at great costs…..

And further it is destroying the self-esteem and self-image in our young girls!

Which brings me back to Dysmorphic Disorder!

It is real…it has ranges, just like many other mental disorders.  Just like a person who may manage many other mental disorders, or a person who compensates with other mental “handicaps” of sorts….

Thus a person can have more severe cases than others….some may not have bouts come on all the time or infrequent.  Yet it is always there in the background.  It is how a young girl nurtures herself, and manages her daily stresses, daily influences that will make all the difference in my opinion.

Things that can help a young lady is to be in tuned with herself and admit when she needs help.

She needs to ask herself: how can I help myself?  Do I need to seek treatment? Or is this something I can manage with the help of a great confidant or support system?

Lifestyle/home remedies that can help:

Taking supplements/herbs that support the serotonin levels.
Learn more about the condition.
Pay attention to warning signs.
Avoid situations, even people that my trigger bad self talk.
Avoid: food, alcohol, drugs….substances that are going not support a nurturing mindset.
BE ACTIVE.  Yoga, walks, sprints, HIIT….are all great ways to keep the mind clear.

Other ways to support yourself/cope:

Write in a journal.
Don’t isolate yourself.
Stay healthy.
Read self-help books.
Join support groups.
Stay focused on goals.
Learn relaxation/stress management.
Don’t make important decisions when feeling despair/distress.

Prevention may not be possible but identifying if you are at risk and learning to truly love yourself early on can help.

Day 19: To Lean or not To Lean…

As you are getting closer to wrapping up your 21 Day Challenge to LOVING YOURSELF: MIND BODY AND SOUL….here is something to think about….

Being super lean isn’t always healthy!!!
This is so cool…it was from last year…
yet how perfect to reflect on the words…
Do you struggle with wishing you could have six-pack abs?
Do you wish you could have striations on your legs?  Your arms?
Do you want veins popping out on your arms? Rounded shoulders?
For some being this kind of lean comes natural….for others it’s not part of their genetics.  This doesn’t mean a person isn’t healthy or fit or strong or fast….it might just mean that your body doesn’t “show it off” the way some others do.
A better way to determine good health…good strength..is for a person to love the body they are in…to not fight it!
I have read so many testimonies of women who have gotten super lean for competitions, for personal goals, for all sorts of reasons….and they ALL talk about the down side of getting too lean.
Besides the psychological down side there is the physical negatives.  It disrupts a woman’s cycles.  Okay yo may say “yes…no period!”…but when you disrupt this natural rhythm to your body you are messing with nature…your body…and in my opinion disrespecting God’s beautiful plan for our bodies!
It can effect so many things: hair, lubrication, libido, skin, energy, vitality, bone density, strength…etc..
Then there is the psychological…it can create a drug-like effect.  Therefore, when a woman isn’t in that super leaned out mode or cycle or goal…she can have feelings of being “fat”, even feelings of being judged by those around her.
She can have feelings of being “heavy”…and body distortions.
This can all lead to lack of self worth…lack of self-love…and even lead to food disordering.
When a person becomes obsessed with what foods are “good” or “bad”, they forget food is neutral…it has no moral tag.  Food can nourish us…or be gunky… but it is not evil.
Hormonal imbalances create all sorts of distortions within a woman.
So today as you near the end of your 21 Day Challenge really reflect on:
Are you a person who is naturally leaned out?
Are you putting unrealistic expectations on yourself?
Are you truly loving yourself properly to be able to go through physical changes that will or could create up and down emotions?

Tasty Tuesday: Protein Powder Power

I have found some really fun ways to incorporate Protein Powders in our families life that meets the needs for all of us:

Hubby: workout recovery, extra calories
Daughter: healthier “milk shake”, guaranteed no argument nutritional needs.
Me:  stabilizes my insulin, helps me keep my hormones balanced.

2 scoops of protein (20g total)
1/2 c plain kefir
1-2 tbsp of  sunflower butter
1 tbsp of cocoa
1 cup of almond/coconut milk
handful of spinach

***blend up in bullet until smooth and to desired consistency.

1 scoop of protein
1/3 c plain kefir
1 tbsp of cocoa
1/2 avocado (she has no idea!)
1 tbsp pure maple syrup
1/2 cup of almond/coconut milk

***blend up….she likes hers really thick….not only is the avocado full of great healthy fats for her but it helps make it really really thick and creamy.

1 scoop of protein
1/3 c of full fat coconut milk
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tbsp chia seeds
1/4 tsp Maca Root (life saver for pre-menopause!)
1/2-1 cup of almond milk

***to me this is like a Latte-Chai Tea with a kick!

1 scoop of protein
hand full of spinach
1/2 avocado
1/2 cup of full fat coconut milk
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp vanilla
1 drop of essential oil peppermint  (I guess if you were to use an extract you could try it with a tsp first and go from there)
1/2-1 cup of almond milk
 ***blend for a refreshing delight!

***I quite often will shake up a scoop with 1/2 c of almond milk or coconut milk and add it to any of my favorite teas to give it a creamy boost!

Now that you have my favorite uses and recipes with protein powder (make sure you use a high quality source)….NO SOY!!!

….anyways, below you can read more about my thoughts on supplementing:

In the ideal world no one would feel the need to supplement.  Whether it is vitamins, minerals, herbs, protein, and so on.

I love listening to many influential people in the paleo community and their take on supplements.
There are a few I look up to as being an excellent example of how living a whole full life through eating a whole food diet is possible…to not supplement with powders, capsules, gels, etc.   They live it, they encourage it, and they are an excellent example that it is possible to have the WHOLE package: health of mind, body, and soul through real food eating, real exercise, and real living!
We each have different lifestyles.  We all have different needs.  We all know what we are willing to do and not do.  What we are willing to truly fight for.
What everyone should do, on a regular basis, is evaluate what a person really “needs” to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Whether a person is trying to accomplish a physical challenge or goal, energy, better health, better choices….they must decide what they really need!
What are they willing to do?
I will cycle protein shakes from time to time for various reasons.  Such as, if I am traveling I will have it on hand to give me a snack in between or if there isn’t going to be a clean meat choice, or even just wanting a “treat”.
I will use half of a regular dose of protein for a green shake because I like the creaminess it gives it.  I will use it to pump up a “treat” I have created to ensure a good protein balance in the ratio to not create insulin surges.
Or I will start out my day from time to time with a hearty shake with lots of cinnamon if I feel I am going to be too much on the go.  I don’t want to do mindless eating and set off my insulin wrong.
For me a clean, quality protein shake to start my day is sometimes exactly what I need to ensure I continue to make really good healthy whole food choices throughout the rest of the day.
Then there are supplements like the B vitamins, and other “energy” creating stuff.  I like to stick with just green tea and b-12 complex to ensure I receive a natural energy and not an addicting or stimulating energy that is received from caffeine in coffee.  For me I have noticed I have been becoming more sensitive to coffee.  It has been creating icky irritation and edginess that is just not worth it to me.
Some minerals are just important to supplement due to the fact they are difficult to receive in our nutrition due to the fact that our lands soil is deficient.  Thus, I on a regular basis take in magnesium.
I am a woman….hormonal, and pre-menopausal….thus maca root and 5-HTP help me feel balanced.  Whether it is in my head or not, I know that I DO feel calmer and less hormonal.
I remind myself all the time that these SUPPLEMENTS must stay true to their name.
Meaning they are to add, to enhance my nutrition, not replace.
I MUST already be taking care of my nutrition and physical needs first in order for me to feel like I should take anything else.  I must make sure I am dialed in with my nutrition to determine if I should, want to, need to, or will supplement.
Too many people think they can take a magic pill to fix years of bad choices.  And that is just not how it works.
I would love for us to live in the ideal world of everyone realizing their true whole food nutrition must come first before they reach for that bottle or powder.  But…we don’t!
Therefore, what I have learned…and truly believe is like that saying:  you can gather more flies with honey rather than vinegar!
If a supplement will encourage a person to start making healthier, whole food choices, to be open to hearing about a lifestyle that is sustainable with great clean eating then I am all for it.
I watched this wonderful TED TALK about what motivates a person to buy something, or get into something, which had me thinking this thought:
Some people see XYZ (insert goal, etc.) as hard and want ABC (insert potion) to be their cure.  Thus, if ABC can be a gate to teach them about XYZ then maybe it is the right approach to be taken, at least for a short period of time to learn about XYZ, to realize they don’t need ABC.  Or maybe just the B and not the A and C…:)….
In conclusion, I realized we all have to choose what is right for our lives.  I would love for everyone to see how amazing and strong they are.  I would love for everyone to see how amazing whole food is.  I wish bread and grains could be ditched from everyone’s diet, kitchen, life.
But that is an IDEAL….and sometimes living in this crazy world is just hard: MIND, BODY, AND SOUL!
Therefore, my great prayer and hope is everyone will be able to find what truly works for them to find better health: of mind, body, and soul!

As for me, I love the celebration of whole food.  I love the fizzy, fun drink I create with my magnesium.  I love feeling full of life with cycling the other supplements I take.  And I really love the “sweet treat” I give myself through shakes!  And I really love knowing that I am spending my “latte factor” on quality food, books, great vacations, and family fun….not supplements.   But heck that’s for a totally different write up on another day! 🙂

Food, Fitness, and Faith on Friday

Really what I should say is:  FAITH…then food…then fitness…:)

I recently was listening and reading about how our food, our nutrition, is 80% of what we see in the mirror and our fitness is only 20%.  What does that mean?  It means  we truly are what we eat!  If a person has aesthetic goals than spinning their wheels on the treadmill for hours and hours at a time each day is not going to accomplish the physical look and goal they are trying to obtain.  A person MUST evaluate how they eat, why they eat, and what they eat.

The 20% of fitness truly can be just 3-4 hours a week or even less when a person focuses on strength as their primary goal rather than aesthetics.  Then, the looks just fall into place if that is a person’s goal.  A routine as simple as walking for 20-30 minutes each day, lifting weights 2-3 times a week for 20-30 minutes, and one sprint or metcon kind of workout a week is truly all that is needed.  This is basically what I do.  My walking may be outside or on my mini trampoline but it is nothing that makes me huff and puff to get my cortisol dumping bad hormones into my body and creating havoc on my insulin and thus adrenals….etc.

BUT I challenge us to look at our food and fitness outside of the box.

What if we put FAITH FIRST. Revolve our every day, our every thought, every action, and our every craving on our FAITH?

What if we gave our FAITH 100%?

Wouldn’t the food of 80% and fitness of 20% become easier?  Less of a chore? More balanced? A better perspective?

I remember once hearing how a marriage isn’t a 50/50 relationship.  That each spouse MUST give 100%  in order to truly experience the beauty and blessings of a marriage.

Thus, I challenge that our relationship with our FAITH, FOOD, AND FITNESS is the the same, in that we must give GOD 100% in order for us to understand and balance the 80% Food and 20% Fitness!

This doesn’t mean we don’t work on what needs to be done to be healthy.  Instead it gives us a better focus on why to be healthy.

A focus on living a longer and healthier life to go out and do amazing works for HIM!!!

Now that is better than any visual in the mirror in my book!

***But….you also won’t be disappointed with what you see in the mirror when GOD/FAITH is the first 100%…..TRUST ME ON THIS!!! 🙂

Blessings and hugs,
~K 🙂

Tasty Tuesdays: Fun with Food Pamphlet!

I have given you 2 of the recipes from the pamphlet link from above over the last 2 weeks!

I wanted to share with you my thoughts…my reasoning to make things simple….to keep things real!  Thus I thought I should give you exactly what I created to share with a friend and with anyone who wants to just learn different ways to add flavor and fun to their food!

It has lots of great ways to add flavor, satiation, fun, and simplicity!

Hope you enjoy this pamphlet….and all the recipes I will continue to post!

Hugs and prayers to you all always!

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts during the holidays….months and months ago…

I absolutely loved what Jason said about challenges….whether it is a paleo challenge or any other type of challenge.

The question we should all ask ourselves is why are we doing a challenge?  Is it to get healthy?  Is it to lose some weight?  Is it to lose body fat?  Is it just to see if we can do it?

Having been on this lifestyle journey of living real, eating real, being real started about 4-5 years ago.  I never thought it would truly change my life but it has.   What is great is I have learned something new each week, each month, each year, and each day!

So for me what may have started as a spiritual journey of a Daniel Fast and pray…..brought me to where I am today with my mind, body, soul, well being of living Paleo.

Thus what really spoke to me about the 69th podcast of theirs, that took place on Christmas Eve, is that I too see friends and family who have a scale goal….or say they are going do something with their eating/diet/exercise for a specific designated time frame.  But then what?  Do they go back to sloppy eating and then get frustrated because they put back on all that weight and then some?

What breaks my heart is how they have now broken their metabolism.  They have to work even harder the next time.  They have broken their spirit; now they are disappointed or frustrated with themselves.

I’ve been there in the past.  Living Paleo has changed that so much for me.  Have I hit some rough spots during this journey?  Of course.  Just because we learn a healthier way of living doesn’t mean that life just becomes easy.  It doesn’t mean temptations aren’t there.  It doesn’t mean I don’t have a meal, or a day, or even a week where I make choices that I may not be so happy about the outcome the next day or next week.

So whether I choose to have a piece of cake at a wedding to celebrate that couples union, or I have too many drinks over the holidays…..I knowingly make a choice that I may not feel so great in my mind and gut the next day…..thus I have to decide if I am willing to wait out it clearing through my system to get my hormones, my mind, my body back into balance.

There is not stop and start…on and off…..challenge or no challenge for me…..it is Paleo Power all the way for me!

Now for me a challenge is more of a: do I want to try to train to be stronger for a couple of months, or do I want to increase my speed on a run.   Heck I have been even pulling more away from running so much and really adapting what is talked about on Marks Daily Apple.

I know it is not easy for any of us who have struggled with weight due to genetics, poor eating habits, or hormones…..but it is possible to abandon the “sad” (standard american diet) way of living….and truly live 100% authentic!

Thus my CHALLENGE to every friend, family member, EVERYONE….is to quit yo-yo-ing…..and start eating, exercising, praying for life….forever!

TASTY TUESDAY: "Hummus & Chips"

For the chips…
Slice the veggies into round chips.
layer of avocado
layer of favorite chunky salsa or pico-de-gallo
layer of cilantro
layer of pine nuts
layer of greek yogurt (optional)
layer of green onions
squeeze lemon and lime all over
salt to taste
1 cup of steamed cauliflower
1/2 cup of tahini butter
1/4 cup of olive oil
1/2 -1 squeezed lemon
salt to taste
***any of your favorite hummus seasonings and add ons:  spicy, roasted peppers, olives, pine nuts…etc.
***another variation I do this recipe is considered more my “ranch dip hummus”.
Instead of olive oil I use coconut cream
instead of lemon about 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt (but this is totally not necessary)
The seasoning is an organic greek blend.
Mix together the cauliflower, tahini butter, olive oil and lemon juice in a food processor until very smooth.
Add seasonings you like in your traditional hummus, pulse again until fully blended.  Transfer it into the dish you are wanting to serve it in.  Garnish the top with the other items you want.  Let it set and chill for 2-4 hours.  I have found that really brings out the flavors and lets them rest and blend into each other very well.
****My pre-paleo days I loved gatherings with the chips and dips.  I realized it wasn’t the chips so much that I missed as the dips.  I really loved the full flavor of these two types of dips.  The mexican layer dip was easy for me to modify because I love the texture of the nuts versus the beans and the tanginess of the greek yogurt instead of the cheese and the sour cream.
When I first turned to whole food eating I was still partaking in beans from time to time.  It was during this time I had fallen in love with hummus.  But the more I learned about legumes and what they do to our digestive system and inflammations with our body I realized it made sense why I had some troubles still.
Thus I found some faux recipes that I pretty much just looked at and then created my own.
Then the chips were easy!  That was fun because I realized we all get use to seeing veggies in sticks but what if we cut them the width of the veggie to create a better space to scoop!  Thus, I started showing up to parties with my veggies cut into rounds and a dip to go along!  For me it guaranteed I had something fun to eat too! 😉
***disclaimer:  These are my thoughts, my opinion, my creations…consult a professional for any real health advice!
Now get cooking and have a family game night with some new ways to snack!
hugs and blessings always,
~K 🙂

1 cup coconut oil
1 cup nut butter (almond, cashew, tahini)
1 TB cocoa
Pinch sea salt
1 tsp to 1 TB honey or pure maple syrup
*modifications are welcome!  Add bits of nuts, coconut flakes, cocoa nibs, cinnamon, cayenne, etc.  for texture if you would like!
Melt half of the coconut oil, nut butter, and honey together.
In a food processor blend all ingredients until smooth.  It should appear slightly oily.
Oil a glass 9×9 pan with coconut oil or olive oil.
Pour mixture into pan and press/spread into place.  It will be kind of stiff feeling because of the protein.
If you are wanting texture/chunks at this point then fold the other items in at this point before fully spreading it out.
Once all spread out, place into refrigerator for about 2 hours to firm up.  Then cut into squares for a delightful nutritious packed treat with no guilt!!!
*** Protein Powder: Add a ½-1 scoop to any “treat” to bump the protein ratio for a more satisfying and balanced treat with less likely of insulin surges!
I live a very whole food, real food, life.  But I do find the benefits to a great, quality protein powder.  It is a way to bolster the protein level in some treats I create occasionally.  It is a handy source of protein when on the go or traveling.  And by creating this “treat” for my family they are not reaching for some artificially created protien bar full of gunk!
It is a great compromise for a family that I am dragging along on my wonderful adventure of life with food in a whole, real, paleo, primal sort of way!!!
Why do I use some of the ingredients I use?

nut butters: SATISFYING (not peanut butter…not a nut!)
Protein powder:  for me regulates insulin, for daughter ensures she is getting protein into a treat!
honey or maple syrup: NATURAL

***remember the disclaimer:  This is only my opinion and my life I am sharing about food, recipes, etc…..consult a professional for any real advice!

Friday’s Freedom Fast!

4 Years ago I embarked on a spiritual journey that has forever changed my life.

My husband was debating over some career choices.  He was struggling with what he should or shouldn’t do.  I had at the same time just finished a book on the deep spiritual connection a person can experience through a fast.  but what I learned through this book was more than that.

I learned about the different types, levels, lengths, etc…of a spiritual fast.  I read about fasting in a way I had never heard of.  It changed my heart and mind forever about what fasting really was.  Thus, I decided this was what I wanted to do for my husband.  I wanted to do a fast and novena as a sacrifice for him to feel a spiritual guidance from God through the decisions he was trying to make.

As I had read in one of the books, I made a contract with God. I stated what I was going to abstain/fast from and for what length of time.

Little did I know that this was going to not only be for him but it would forever shift my life…

Spiritually:  It taught me to truly and fully lean on God through anything and everything.  When I am in a fast I must remember there will be temptations, so the question is what is more important to me, the fleshly desire for that one item, or is my desire for Christ going to be greater?

Mind:  I feel an amazing clarity in my mind when I fast.  No matter the type or duration.  Even though I have found for me a fast that is at least 9 days long are where I experience the greatest clarity.  But my one day absolutes can also be profound!

Body:  I had no idea that 4 years ago this simple decision would began my journey of truly embracing a whole foods living approach.  A journey of giving up all food that truly do not nourish my body properly.

I had no idea that the foods I was fasting from had a name: PALEO!

I find it fitting and beautiful that 4th of July is on a Friday this year because 4 years ago it was after a 4th of July celebration weekend with friends that I started the spiritual fast for my husband.

What did I fast from and how long, that forever changed my life?

I knew I wanted the fast to be at least 21 days.  But started it with a novena for my husband with a friend, which is 9 days long.

It was simple:  I would fast/abstain from all foods I really loved and desired.…and I wanted to keep it simple!

I gave up:
all sugars
snacking in between meals

My days were written out like this:
Breakfast: protein shake
Lunch: soup (no meat) with nuts
Dinner: big salad or grilled veggies with a good portion of meat.

It was that simple.  AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE!

At 21 days I noticed a shift in my body.  And for the first time in my life I didn’t have excruciating pain when my period came.  I had suffered with PCOS for 20 years.  It was entering into the fall season, thus seasonal allergies….yet I wasn’t watery eyed, sneezy, and miserable.  I realized there was something to this spiritual journey; it was changing my spirit, my soul, but it was also changing my mind, my mental health, and my body, my physical health!

I started to read and research about dairy, grains, sugars, and so much more.  How all these have effects on our body.  I started to feel even more alive.  And I am a pretty energetic happy person to begin with!

I have experienced so much in my last 4 years:  good, bad, sorrowful, challenging, etc. Yet, through it all I have felt so alive, so amazing.  I know with my entire being it is because of this spiritual journey God took me on 4 years ago.  It has deepen my faith, deepen my life, and opened up a doorway for my mind, body, and soul for and to HIM!

That can be described in only one way:  TRUE FREEDOM!

***Quick note:  That fast was exactly that a fast.  It had a beginning and an end.  But it did lead me to how I eat today.  Which is whole real food.  No grains, no legumes, minimal grass fed dairy from time to time, NO SUGAR…..

But lots and lots of:

I eat and try more types of veggies than I ever did before.  I try even the main stays in ways I never would have fathomed!  I enjoy some fruits, mostly berries, but because they truly are just too sweet for me any more!

Thus on this glorious 4th of July….I celebrate not only our country’s INDEPENDENCE…..but my INDEPENDENCE as well!

INDEPENDENCE from the bondage of bad food choices!
INDEPENDENCE to eat amazing full flavored REAL food!
INDEPENDENCE to live a full life:  MIND, BODY, AND SOUL!

Happy Independence day to you all!
My love and prayers always,
~K 🙂

***Don’t forget to check out the links I have highlighted above!  Would love to hear any feedback, comments, input!

Energy! Peace! Health!

We all have to do what is right for our own bodies!

I have been reading bits and pieces from another great Paleo book:  Your Personal Paleo Code!

I love it!

I love being Paleo!

I love living Paleo!

I love life!

BUT…..I do understand and respect that Paleo is not for everyone.  I would love to convince everyone to go down this road and they won’t regret it.  Yet, human nature has it where there are some who just will argue…some who are not committed…some who think it is limiting…..some who just don’t get it.  That’s okay.

I am not here to force anyone….heck I can’t force anyone….but I can hopefully help others learn more about their health: mind, body, and soul…..to make good choices that are right for them!

That is why I love supporting those who strive to live a healthier life.

There are arguments in the paleo community whether a person should use any supplements or not.

There are some who say we can get all we need from our foods….and others who say we need just a few…..and others who argue that today’s food just isn’t giving us what all we need so we must supplement some vitamins and minerals.

ALL OF THESE ARGUMENTS ARE CORRECT!  Depending on your lifestyle….your busy-ness, your willingness to make certain food choices, etc.

For example, for me, I try to not supplement for the most part, but I do know I need the vitamin B’s for energy a bit more from time to time.

If I am out and about, or traveling, and if I am not going to have access to a good quality grass fed beef, I will make a protein shake;  if I am in the middle of an intense spiritual fast I will take a whole foods multi-vitamin….and during winter I need a bit more antioxidant super fruits to ensure I keep my immune system up and running as I am running about……

Therefore, if a person is going to use stuff to help them with their health, and making healthy choices outside of their food sources, we really want to make sure it is quality.

I look at it as I am not going to willingly buy a hormone injected meat, or a soy laden dressing, or gunky oils to inflame my system…..

The same is with our vitamins, supplements, protein…..

I have always been willing to pay more for quality and know that it is GOOD IN GOOD OUT!
I want to live the longest, healthiest, fullest life that GOD has in store for me!

With that HUGE intro….I want to share with everyone, and anyone who will read, and listen…..

I have a wonderful friend who approaches life the same way I do….wanting to help others live their fullest and healthiest life possible!

She is having this great event coming up in February…. (check out this link!!!)

So the question is:
Do you need help just trying to eat more whole food?
Do you want more energy?  Quality B vitamins?
Do you want a great way to baby step into a Paleo/Primal lifestyle?
Do you want to win some free stuff!?

Check it out!  It’s worth even just hanging out and meeting some great people who have the same goals in mind:  TO BE THE BEST YOU GOD INTENDED YOU TO BE!!!!
